In the 12th century, the Crusader invasions disrupted the unity and order of the Islamic world. Many Islamic lands, including the holy city of Jerusalem, fell into the hands of the Crusaders. Saladin was raised with the understanding of “Justice for the world, freedom for Jerusalem.”
He led the frontier warriors under the Zengi State, who fought against the Crusaders. The Knights Templar besieged the city of Ascalon, the key to Jerusalem. If Ascalon fell, Jerusalem would be strengthened and Zengi lands would be in danger.

To prevent this, Saladin wanted to help the people of Ascalon. But there was a big problem: the people of Ascalon were enemies of the Zengi. So Saladin was not permitted by the state council. But despite the council’s decision, Saladin went to help the people of Ascalon.
Now Saladin faced formidable obstacles. Amidst this difficult war, love sparked between Saladin and the daughter of the emir of Ascalon, Sureyya. But though united here, they were on opposite sides in this war. Would the spark of love between them grow, or would the war fuel more hostility?
